The face masks are available for $19.99 for a four-pack. You can pre-order them in small, medium, and large sizes for estimated shipping in June. The entertainment company said it will donate 1 million face masks to kids and families in underserved communities and organizations working to limit the spread of COVID-19. According to Disney’s statement, the company has already made a donation of more than 100K N95 masks to the states of New York, California, Florida, and Washington, DC.
Edward Park, Senior Vice President of Disney store and shopDisney, said in a statement that “Our hope is that Disney’s cloth face masks featuring some of our most beloved characters will provide comfort to the families, fans and communities that are so important to us.” He also addressed the fact that “wearing any type of mask can be daunting,” but it’s the only way to stop the spread of the virus.
Recent studies have shown that a huge amount of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms, and those who eventually develop them can transmit the virus to others before the symptoms show up. According to the CDC, “this means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms.” In light of the new evidence, the CDC recommends wearing the cloth masks in public.
