Joshua Strydom documents the visitors of Europe's second most disappointing attraction: The Astronomical Clock. Strydom's exhibition titled 'Disappointment' recently opened at Memphis College of Art, in Memphis, TN. Strydom photographs the thousands of visitors as they watch the show, standing in anticipation built around myth, legend, and popular tourism. He layers the photographs of these many viewers; creating an aesthetic average of what disappointment looks like, or rather unrequited expectations where viewers receive an emotional outcome different from what they anticipated.
Fredric Koeppel, and the Commercial Appeal described the exhibition as "... a great project... with a conception of wonderful purity and intensity."
