Like it or not, it looks like the trend of digitally resurrecting late celebrities is here to stay. One of the latest such instances is with Marilyn Monroe, where she resurfaced in last month's CR Fashion Book, China edition. In order to pull this project off, several creative and tech teams worked on it for 8 months, and produced an explosive result.
The reviews were mixed, but what the project succeeded in doing is that no one was indifferent to it. Some applauded this virtual project as beneficial, saying that it's a great way to showcase the technology, while others were left unnerved. What made most people uncomfortable is the unsettling question: "Who's going to be next in line to become a commercialized corpse? Is there no rest for the dead?" What do you think?
