We asked how they would illustrate the meaning of life: "We’ve actually tried to do that several times before. Look out for our comics starring Kevin, a sweet fellow in dialogue with his creator about the great questions of life. For example, 'God's Plan' and 'Purpose.'"

We asked War and Peas to share their secret on how they keep coming up with such unexpected and funny twists: "Phew, no idea, really. When it comes to creating unexpected situations, you have to let your mind’s eye wander, it sometimes helps to have lived a strange life."

We wondered if these comics are inspired by any movies or TV shows: "You tell us. We find it very hard to define our own humor. But we grew up to different comedy influences. While Elizabeth has been exposed to Mike Myers and American humor, Jonathan watched the Monty Python movies dozens of times and has been a fan of the British humor all his life."

Everyone knows that 2020 was a rough year, so we asked War and Peas in a previous interview how it went for them: "To be honest, dark humor weirdly feeds off of adversity, so when things are in turmoil, it’s sometimes easier for us to make jokes. But at the same time, we’re worried and sad and angry about the things that have happened, just like everyone else. So it sometimes takes a lot of energy to stay focused. At the end of the day, it is our job to make comics, and we try to get paid for it. Sure, the creative industry is really struggling and we’ve felt that too financially. But at the end of the day, we’re hopeful that people will always need to laugh." For now they say that 2021 is going better, but "it’s not over yet."

We asked War and Peas if they were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would they take with them: "A Bialetti coffee maker, a bass guitar, and a helicopter." The answer perfectly fits into their unique, random, and amazing humor.

We asked what they think the main mistakes of comic creators are: "When new creators start out, they often try to people-please everybody and don’t act independently from the platforms they’re releasing on. MySpace died, Tumblr and Facebook are almost dead and Instagram is the next to come. If we had to put one piece of advice out there: Get your own website and establish a newsletter service. By the way: Check out our hot-s**t newsletter on our sexy website."
