Reflecting on her artistic journey, Julie recalls, "I doodle a lot, especially in class. So my friends encouraged me to build a website to showcase my artwork and that was how Jubes Comic Blog started. It was just for fun in the beginning, but I loved it so much I just kept doing it until now."
Her favorite subjects are her characters, Ja and Ju, representing herself and her husband. "They represent my boyfriend (monkey) and I (rabbit), where we live out the ups and downs of life together. We try not to take life too seriously all the time," the artist explains.
During the quarantine period, Julie began illustrating daily activities with her husband to encourage social distancing and self-isolation. At the time, she expressed her hope that readers would realize they are not alone during these times, noting, "We may all be self-isolating, but we are all doing the same things together."
She portrays herself as a rabbit-like character and her husband as a monkey, illustrating their shared moments with humor and warmth. Reflecting on her creative journey, Julie shared, "I have been illustrating adventures with my husband since 2012; it has been and always will be my way of expressing my love and gratitude for our time together."
