#1 Good Morning

I have always enjoyed little bits of storytelling in illustration, especially when it’s a bit silly, funny, or cute. It adds personality to your characters, that people can relate to. Some of my favorite content on the internet has always been short snappy comics, so I had my mind on making my own for a long time, but never actually went through with it until I made a really quick silly four-panel comic about a frog enjoying himself while skating. I didn’t think much of it but noticed that people online reacted and engaged with it a lot more than my normal works, so this sort of invigorated my spirit to create a series of comics.

Some of my biggest influences and inspirations to make my own comic are the works of Alex Norris (you probably have seen his ‘oh no’ comics. They are so relatable and funny in all their simplicity). Another great one is the comics of Alison Zai, I love their humor, and she likes drawing animal characters just like me. I like to think I differentiate myself from other comics by adding a layer of pure wholesomeness, celebrating life and the cute little things in it.

#5 Oh No. Anything But That

As I like to keep my comics short, simple, and snappy they never take me longer to draw than a few hours. However, I can be mulling over the concept for days before I think it’s good enough!
Whenever I scroll through Twitter, there is a lot of negativity, and on top of it, there are also loads of people complaining about the negativity! I enjoy accounts that like to combat this by spreading a bit of positivity, showing that not everything is all that bad. There is plenty of kindness to go around in the world. I don’t really want to be super deep about it, but when I hear my drawing can just make one person's day a little bit better I feel like that is quite something already!

#7 A Wise Lesson

For now, I just want to spread tiny bits of joy through little simple comics and illustrations, that’s all! It is my dream to be able to make one every single day!
If you are ever considering making your own comics, don’t overthink it too much. Just start with the very first one and go from there! Keep it simple! Keep it light! Have fun!
