While the new year is arriving, pianist AyseDeniz made an arrangement of Jingle Bells Upside Down to express the roller coaster emotions of the past year.
Music lovers and musicians from all over the world, the UK, Turkey, Cyprus, Vietnam, Chile, the USA, have contributed to her interpretation of Jingle Bells which starts with the theme but in minor (sad) and is inverted (upside down).
During the pandemic musician AyseDeniz tried to build a community through music to help people heal together.
In March 2020 on Facebook and Instagram she gave 24 live concerts to an audience from all around the world.
She began the concerts by clapping for healthcare workers and then she would play the piano.
After those concerts she wanted to be even more interactive with the Hey World project: A “stay home” music video in which she rewrote the lyrics of Hey Jude song, which was commonly requested in these live concerts.
She has also an album based on the requests she got from these live streams.
AyseDeniz first arranged the Jingle Bells Upside Down for piano, and then she added lyrics to it.
Musical theatre actor Leo Roberts agreed to launch the project guiding the people on how to sing for the video.
“I have gotten so many amazing submissions and it is truly a global project which reminds us that we are all residents of this planet and we all share similar hopes and dreams. I hope to support my community through these projects more,” says AyseDeniz.
