Among the hysteria from COVID-19 news around the globe, people are swooping up supermarkets and stockpiling goods leading to empty shelves and crowded checkouts.
Hoard-type shopping has resulted in the lack of vital essential products like: toilet paper, hand sanitizer, wipes, hand soap, trash bags, disinfectant spray, tissues, medication, bread and flour.
B.C. Premier John Horgan (Canada) encouraged people to be mindful of their purchases. “Let’s be thoughtful and reflect on the consequences of us buying everything. What does that mean for the next person in line that desperately needs that product.”
However, people have still been stocking up.
