I love Renoir and would have loved to recreate the "Dance in the City," but I don't have such a gorgeous dress. Instead I chose "Dance in the Country." I'm wearing garden gloves and holding a duster instead of a fan. I used a tablecloth for the dress and a sponge for the hat. At first I had a pillow under my tablecloth as a bustle, but I looked like I was about 300 pounds, so I nixed that one. I'm guessing the woman in the photo is probably a size 2, but the bustle adds a few pounds on her. That's probably why they're no longer in fashion and never will be again!
