The sailor scouts are magical girls in school uniforms. In the star wars universe jedi are the ones with magical powers and the slaves wear the attractive female clothing. So... Magical warrior = jedi, school uniforms = slave outfits (inspired by the ones worn by the twi'lek and the Pa'lowick, not Leia's)
