It happened to me too... office manager was telling my boss about the great job she did on my file. I happened to be nearby and heard. She did nothing, the entire thing was mine. My boss called me in to find out why I didn't do my job and OM did it? I just said read it... you'll soon know who did the work. Half hour later, I got an apology. Office manager lost her job. Tough. Don't take credit when you did zip. Not all bosses are that gullible.
