Leave before she convinces you you can't.
Not nearly that bad, but was released from hospital after major brain surgery. When he picked me up, nurse told him, under no circumstances was I to be left alone for at least 24 hours. He dropped me at the door and went to McDonald's. Came back a few hours later, obviously with no food for me. Good thing the cats all piled on top of me so I wasn't alone.
