Good point, thanks for pointing that out.
It hurt my spouse as this was his good friend and best man at our wedding. It was a fake marriage as well to just get papers. It did not hurt me or my wedding but was thoughtless and rude in my opinion.

I would be asking them to cough up ££ towards the cost of your wedding ! If they are using the venue and decorations you payed for then they have to compensate you.
