I absolutely agree with you! A post like this shows that adopting can do so much for the animal you rescue, and that animals that aren’t perfect are just as loving as any purebred or any other rescue. :) adopt don’t shop!

I understand your concern. I too am frustrated with the way the breeding world works. When I first took Merlin to the vet they told me about complications that come with Merlin's breed. At this point all I can do is celebrate Merlin's life and give him as much as I can. Now with the amount of followers he has I'm able to talk about these issues and point people towards animal shelters instead of going to breeders.

I’m not sure that this will promote breeding like this. This brings awareness to what designer breeding does to an animal and will more than likely turn people against breeding, not promote it. I think it’s good that Merlin is getting a voice for the cruelty brought upon him and other victims of designer breeding. Ignoring Merlin does not bring awareness.
