Until recently I knew very little about vitiligo, and most of what I assumed isn't true. I had always assumed that people were born with it, and it didn't change throughout a person's life. It turns out that it can show up later in life, and it isn't constant. It showed up on the inside of my upper arms and wrists when I was about 60. It has since spread to spots on my leg and neck, and some of what was originally on my arms has returned to normal pigmentation.

I grew up in the '50s. We didn't get TVs until second grade. They had a record player and a hold radio. We had a dial telephone plugged to the wall. In the '60s,my car didn't have a shoulder seat belt only a lap belt. And we would drive 80 to 90 mph. Didn't get cassettes until maybe the '70s. We punched cards to get info into the huge mainframe at school. In 1978 and 1990 went to Europe without a cell phone and the four of us kept finding each other when we get lost. We in the '70s we paid hardly anything for a lot of cable channels with no commercials. I got a beeper in the late '80s. And a cell phone in the early '90s. But no internet.
