There's an update: OP has the child, ex agreed to only having supervised visits and to have this formalised in court. The guy is on OP's insurance and she offered to pay for half of his mental health treatment. She has notified his family of the situation as well and her dad is stepping in to help with childcare. OP is fine. The child is fine. And hopefully dad will be OK too. For anyone saying that OP is unfit due to her previous mental-health issues, this sort of prejudice is exactly why mothers are so reluctant to reach out for help. Because they are terrified that they could lose their child over nothing. Obviously sometimes it is necessary to remove a child, but there's still so much stigma surrounding mental health, that women regularly get in serious trouble just for admitting to it.

Whether meaning to or not, he weaponized leaving a toddler in harm's way to get his way. This is a game changer and all trust is lost. To even contemplate doing such a thing means he is not a fit parent.

Ngl, my 4yo acts the same but she is FOUR And I'm actively trying to get her out of this behavior by learning how to self-regulate her emotions, especially dealing with the big negative ones. It is HARD and emotionally draining as the parent but it is MY job because I am her parent. If my child did that, I'd apologize, have a long discussion with child, child would apologize, and it would be up to Aunt. No judgments from me.

There are days where I legit don't sit down and my house looks as dirty as when I started and I'm just like WTF?! Why did I even bother?

Window shopping gives you the same dopamine boost as actually buying so it makes sense. Plus, if you keep thinking about it and are willing to go back, then it's something you really want

See my previous post about buying a freezer. But your frozen food does not have to be pre-prepared. Frozen stir fry veggies, maybe a ca of water chestnuts and a cut up onion. A cup or two of rice in the rice cooker. Cut up a pork chop or some other meat. I can make a variety of great stir frys in about 15 minutes of actual in kitchen prep time. Or it might be a frozen hamburger patty. Or a couple of chicken thighs tossed in the air fryer.

I do it when I'm putting it away. There is usually something in there I haven't worn in at least a year that isn't for special occasions. I just stop noticing it after a while. I also don't have much closet space, so I really don't have any choice.
