Hi, I’m Sonia Gourlie—an international award winning fine art photographer based in Ottawa, Ontario. I specialize in capturing life’s most cherished moments through timeless, storybook-inspired portraits. My work includes newborn, maternity, baby milestones, cake smashes, “Mommy and Me,” family sessions, and my personal favorite—whimsical children and animal portraits.I’m passionate about blending fine art with emotion, using natural light, vintage styling, and carefully crafted sets to create dreamy, heirloom-quality imagery. It’s all about patience and having an amazing assistant who knows what you want and also in some photos treats are hidden and out of site such as treat under the Apple in the little girls hand . Ect . It’s honestly a lot of fun and we make just it’s captured in the one frame because I want my clients to actually have those memories and moments . Which is the best part
Thank you so very much you noticed my favourite piece , timeless is a big part of my photography, and buisness I want these to last for generations without having a very specific time stamp put on so it keeps the story’s alive for generations to enjoy . I miss those simple times and it’s a piece of me that I have brought to the studio I am so happy that it’s picked up on . Plus it’s super fun to shop and find pieces that go with story’s we want to tell .

Wow such beautiful photos. To get those animals to pose would have been difficult.
