My name is Sofia and I've been using art as an exploration tool and as a way to spread mental health awareness by visualizing bipolar disorder's symptoms through drawings. One of my goals is to bring attention to this condition, since about 46 million people globally experience it and it's often misunderstood. I've been stable for years and that has made it difficult to create new pieces, but I'm still a mental health advocate, devoted to a career in behavioral sciences.

Sorry for the late reply. I named it 'Prone' because I'm prone to keep my feelings and deep thoughts to myself when I don't know how to explain what I'm going through. Being silent makes me feel tangled (confused, misunderstood, uncomfortable, lost, isolated..), specially during a depressive or a mixed episode.

Thank you so much, I joined a rehab program last year and it was a life changer. I think your comment is very moving.

Bored panda forgot to censor the nipples in this one.

So in art, BP needs to censor female nipples but not male nipples. Right. Okay, makes total sense 🤔

Thank you for sharing these. I found art to be my best outlet when I was diagnosed at 16, too. I'm not nearly as talented as you! These are amazing. I think you are a fantastic artist in the fight for understanding. You do us proud!

I haven't had a mixed episode in a while, but just looking at this brings all the feelings back immediately. What talent!
