It really is a newer phenomenon. I started noticing more incivility in the early/mid 2010's. Before that, hotheads existed but they ranted at home.

Sigh. I'm aware of six of these artists. I have absolutely no idea what any of them have created musically. I am a musical luddite. None o that new fangled c**p pop please.
