I had my first surgery at the age of 21 when they put a pigs valve in (I was born with a deformed valve), so from 21 to 34 I was living with that one. Then it was discovered that I had an ascending aortic aneurysm, which is considered a deadly condition if it was to rupture, for which I had a graft put in. And while I was "open" they decided (I knew about it before) to put in the mechanical valve in so I don't need a 3rd surgery later in life to switch it, once the pigs valve would have served its purpose and time. So here I am, surviving everything that's being thrown at me by life.
