I Collaborate With My 3-Year-Old And 7-Year-Old To Create Imaginative Illustrations

Thank you, Ruth. It is so nice to actually get a reply to one of my posts (so rare, and so appreciated.) Also FYI, this idea of writing a story with my granddaughters came from something I used to do when my (now grown) children were in elementary school (6 to 10) I would let my kids make scribbles with pencils on velum paper. Then I would ask them what their scribble looked like. They would say things like, "a railroad engineer, a cowboy, and so forth. Then I would draw a cartoon character on top of their scribble. Mine were not in color, or nearly as beautiful as those you created, but something they loved to see come to life as I drew. I can't draw anymore. I have a neurological condition that stole that ability from me in 2005. That is why I need an artist for my book, because I can't draw now (what a bummer.) Again Ruth, thank you so very much for your reply. May God continue to richly bless you and your children! What a talent you have! Magnificent!

Thanks for your suggestion, Arty! During a bout of anxiety, I decided to start drawing through the pain! Such a great way to bring myself out of depression and now I'm grateful I get to share my experiences with others who might be going through something similar :) -Mari
