I'm a jack of all trades and a master of a few of them. I speak five languages: English, Bad English, Country, Gibberish, and Sarcasm. I have a great deal of random knowledge and am always wanting to add to my horde. I love reading, writing, and spending time learning new things. I have two pets, Eli the Chihuahua and Sora the flame point Siamese, who I talk about insistently (deal with it). If you're curious about the name just ask me, don't guess because I already know you're wrong *grins*.

You're welcome! We didn't always have a lot money and a lot of museums are cheap or free. I think the guy at the WW2 museum charges $5 to get in.
Silica is a type of sand, often called 'Silica Sand'. Quartz sand to be specific. Almost all sand everywhere has silica in it, just not at the purity levels needed so they mine specifically for silica since it has so many uses and functions. You can make glass out of regular sand you find anywhere it just won't have the quality pure Silica Sand produces which is why it's preferred - that being said regular sand can contain high levels of silica since Quartz is pretty much everywhere. Sand for the most part is eroded rock and crystals - and depending on where you're at eroded shellfish and coral as well, it can also contain minerals in it from the breakdown of the rocks and crystals. Sand is technically classified as a crystal. The more you know.
