Beautiful historic churches, thank you for sharing. It's sad to see once revered places fall into ruin and I hope someone preserves them. Archaeology provides continual evidence on how important places disappear from human memory. Religion is on the decline in the west, I doubt that will change. Churches don't have the attendance they used to. One thing we could hope happens is some of them are re-purposed as private dwellings, businesses etc. The Parthenon survived because it has been in continued use. . We hopefully will do more to protect the original integrity of the places.
