I was working in the garden a few years back & behind my shed in a huge pile of d**d leave was a tabby just about to give birth! She looked up at me with such desperate eyes. I scooped her up & managed to get her inside a large box lined with a towel just as the first kitten arrived. She had 4 little ones of different colours and we decided she'd had such a tough life, she shouldn't have to be parted with her babies once we tried unsuccessfully to find if she had an owner. So now they are all here, all neutered and ruling the dog! I'm very glad she chose my garden.
