Actually, they barely ever survive for long in the wild but if given enough time alone, they could theoretically live forever. Whenever the jellyfish starts to die, the outer layer of it's skin peels away, leaving a new baby jellyfish that has the exact same DNA as the old one. This means they are technically immortal, even if they don't have the defense systems to fight off predators who will eat them. Not exactly immortal, but everlasting.
I guess I could say he stole a lot of hearts.
