Commoncents people who belong to isis, taliban, hezbollah, etc might call themselves muslims but they aren't necessarily practicing it the way it should be practiced. The same thing can be said for all other religions that have divisions (and some of them are violent and extreme too like Hindutva, The Army of God, Eastern Lightning, The Lord's Resistance Army, Zionists, KKK, etc.) Would you say that any of those groups actually practice the basics of their faiths correctly? Probably not.
