You can tell who's a native North Carolinian by seeing how they react to hurricanes vs. snow lmao

Not an unreasonable assumption. Perhaps it was eating cheese, and surrendered?

Nope. It's gorgeous ut I don't want snow. I live in Orange Co NC, if they even mention the possibility of snow people go crazy flooding grocery stores for bread and milk. What are they gonna do with the milk if the power goes out for several days if they don't have a generator, dump it. The only real snow plows are in the mountains. People are stupid and do NOT slow down and cause lots of wrecks. Jan 2000 was named snowmageddon. We got 2 ft of snow, me and the kids were stuck at home for 2 weeks. My husband worked for a power co & the phone rang about 4:30 that morning. He started his truck and took a shower while it was warming up. I got up, cooked him breakfast and made a bunch of sandwiches for him and the guys on his bucket truck. They called in the whole linecrew.

American here; AP/Advanced Placement are classes that are "college level" that high schoolers can take. They're run and distributed by a company called CollegeBoard, who you pay for the exam (and then they take your name and email and sell it to colleges who want to recruit). They also administer the PSAT and SAT (two big standardized tests for American kids). Theoretically, this works, but you have to get a 3 or higher (scores go from 1-5) to pass and get college credit. Some students do this strategy (often called self-study), but some schools don't let you take the test if you're not enrolled in the class. You can't just take the test, unfortunately, because you pay CollegeBoard to administer it, and there are specific days for each test, where EVERY enrolled student in the whole country takes it. I won't deny that it's helpful, but CollegeBoard has a monopoly on American high school testing at this point, and it makes me annoyed to fork over hundreds of dollars a year for tests.

Why did I read that in the tune of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"

Had to do a project on him in AP World History in high school-it was a pain trying to find information about the right guy. If I recall right, he also delivered/helped deliver a good chunk of Queen Victoria's kids

The security dogs outside my local sporting arena like to sniff my dad's pants every time we go in, enough that we've established casual relationships with the handlers. We get hot dogs before games, and apparently my dad has a habit of getting it on his pants?

Okay, but like Subarus are awesome. My mom's 2015 Outback is still up and running, better than my dad's 2020 Acura. Subaru for the win!
