I've been picking up trash along beaches for over a dozen years. My mission began when I moved from Bondi Beach, to L.A. Originally, I would just pick up Styrofoam cups and bring them to the local 7-11, but I soon realised that this wasn’t really attacking the root problem. needed a creative way to draw attention to it. The idea of making detritus into art began in 2009 with the realisation that the waste we create always comes back to haunt us.
