Also potentially untrue. The actual summary used by the study's author was "Homicide is a leading cause of death for pregnant women in US" And the study was based on less than 300 currently or recently pregnant women in NYC between 1987 and 1991. If you were to go somewhere else in the world, the percentages & causes would probably be significantly different. But details don't make good, shock headlines.
