As an artist, I imagine my paintings before I put brush to paper. I don't know how I'd be able to paint if I was a 5 on this scale! I wonder whether there are many artists who are 5s.

Hey, boomer here, with four millenial kids, and we helped them as much as we could. We paid for their schooling, gave them allowances till they had a job, helped them with a down payment when they wanted to buy. But then, here in France, the " you're 18, you're out on your own" bul*sh*t is not the norm. It's when they're starting their lives that our money can help them, not when they'll inherit it in their sixties.

Horseshoes are also available with corrective fit, just like human orthotics, so many horses actually are able to live longer and much more pain-free lives thanks to the shoer.

Glaciologist here. THIS!!!

There's a song like this in Germany: "too ugly for Munich, too dumb for Berlin, too trendy for Bautzen, too masculine for Vienna.." Where do you go? Hannover. That's where you go

Yes - I did fieldwork there for 6 weeks and we had mandatory shooting training. Always carried firearms, and indeed had to scare off a bear with a flare gun when he was curious what we were measuring.

Thought so too, till I worked in the Arctic and met one. Survival instinct kicks in reaalllllll hard

What I love is that frugal and sustainable go hand in hand. Almost all of these solutions are also less wasteful / more environmentally friendly than the 'expensive' option!

I'm a glacier scientist - where I do research, it's either polar bears (north) or penguins (south)! But on Greenland and Svalbard, we carry rifles and flares.
