OMFG, this one hits. I recently resigned as a substitute teacher in my very small district. I had an incident in a class I was subbing. It happened right under my nose and I didn't see it. There was drama going on in the class and I didn't recognize it from the normal drama of this particular class. I knew I f****d up on the job and talked to the principal about it as soon as I had a free period. He was harsh. He said "you subs" have no idea how to handle these kids. And "you people" just won't listen when we're told how to handle the kids. And "you want to be nice but the meanest subs are the best". I countered with how out of control this particular class was and was told it was my JOB to make these kids learn. But I can't do s**t when the teacher has an out of control class and leaves a f*****g crossword puzzle as the sub work. So I resigned. I feel like I've let the kids down.
