My love of sleep is matched only by my love of not working. I write sometimes, when I'm not sleeping or working.

I used to work in a convenience store in a bad neighborhood and we didn't have a public bathroom- which we were grateful for. My DM was there one day and this guy came in and needed to use the bathroom. i tell him no (our bathroom was near all of our product storage and safe/money), but the DM let him in the locked area to go ahead. He's in there for like 20 minutes and the DM leaves. Finally the guy came out of the bathroom and knocked a bunch of stuff over because he was so wasted. When I go to the bathroom i see he literally pooped on the floor and smeared it all over the walls. He left a needle on the floor as he was clearly doing d***s while he was in there. I called my DM because i wasn't going to be cleaning it. He was like 'you're the store manager that's your job'. I told him i worked in a place with no public bathroom and he choose to override me. so either he can come back and clean it or he needs to send corporate cleaners to come and clean it. I quit soon after.

Sorry but as a picky eater myself, there are certain things i seriously can't eat. I don't know why we all must force ourselves sick around people who supposedly love us/we love and make holidays miserable for everyone. I think bringing stuff is tacky but if your honest with them ahead of time and asked if you could bring a premade item, or a 'side' for yourself. be clear that what's important is that you're all together and you don't want to make them do more work...I can't see why anyone would mind. My brother's ex was vegetarian so my mom just asked her what she wanted. she wasn't going to cook a whole other meal but she bought a vegetarian pot pie at the store that was premade that she loved and just needed to be heated up. she had that and veggies and stuffed herself as much as the rest of us and it was fine.

I have a weird thing where at night if I'm sitting up in bed and talking, i can't stop yawning. it's not even really yawning, though. I just have this need to open my mouth like I'm yawning. and it's almost non-stop. I have to lay back down to stop it. It's not from being tired. It's only when i'm sitting up in that position. as soon as i lay down it stops. It's so annoying. I must be sitting on some kind of nerve in that position that is causing this. I also find that sometimes I yawn a lot in a very short period of time. in 5 minutes I'll yawn like 15 times then it stops. It's embarrassing if I'm in a work meeting or something.

I can't necessarily vomit, but just thinking about the word 'nauseous' can make me nauseous. I never used to be this way. I went on a work trip where they took us fishing. The waves were so choppy that i had non-stop sea sickness for about 3 hours straight. I mean non-stop. I didn't know anyone could throw up that much. There was a whole bunch of us. We called it puke row. ever since, i still occasionally feel like i'm still on that boat. It's like motion sickness that developed from that single incident. I can't even think about throwing up without wanting to.

My IT people google most problems.

The operative word is *yet*. They can't replace us YET. But they're making it better every day. Customer service phone jobs are for sure going to be replaced.

I used to be really clear with anyone during interviews that holiday's were required and we'd always try to rotate so 1 person could get it off. Newer employee were on the bottom of the list but... it didn't matter. They'd still not show up or throw a fit if they were scheduled. There has to be a reasonable expectation of working on busy days. Businesses would fail. If you people would stop going there on those days the merchant would realize it's not profitable enough to keep open! Our gas station/retail store's busiest days of the year were thanksgiving and christmas. I get some professions require this: Pilots, medical staff, people who supply gas to emergency vehicles... But the only reason these other places stay open is because YOU GO. So stop! That being said, if you know this going into the job, I don't blame the company. I get the frustration of the manager writing this posting.
