And my daughter and I have an awesome relationship. Truthfully we were more like sisters as she was little, then I had to be the evil mommy lol as she was a teenager, and now since she was about 20, we get along great! As I said, she’s newly pregnant, buying a house, has a wonderful job and has an awesome boyfriend. *pats myself on the back a bit* I take pride in raising my children to be responsible, independent, kind, beautiful hearted humans.
My mother and I have boundaries. She as a person is someone I would have boundaries with regardless, but I invite her to spend time with me and my family, and we text things often. My daughter (23) texts her grandmother, (my mom) but, as I do, also has boundaries with her. It is not due to what happened at the beginning, but more due my mother being uncomfortable to talk about a lot of life with. Hopefully that makes sense?
