Leather takes a long time to rot and needs to be wet for it to happen. The leather in Mad Max wouldnt rot. It would however crack from sun exposure without proper leather care and conditioning.

I had this happen at a furniture store. I was in my early 20s. Just suffered a house fire. Got a new place, got the insurance check, wanted to get a bedroom set, a living room set and some book cases after work. The furniture store I was going to was a book end to the local mall. As I'm looking around talking with my brother about colors and covering materials on a sofa the salesman walks up and rudely tells us that the mall is over there and not to get the furniture dirty. I laughed at him and told him "you really messed up today". I pull out a pile of $100 bills and told him I wanted to get a bedroom set a living room set and some book cases today. Paid in cash but I guess you are right. I will go to the mall over there. He was stuttering and apologizing when his manager came over to see what the fuss was. Told him I wanted to furnish my new place after I had a house fire but this guy was directing me to the mall and warming me to not get the furniture dirty. Have a nice day.

See? They even do it to a riche, white guy. Seriously, what kind of an idiot doesn't figure on a handyman being the best kind of electronics customer?

I worked at a car dealership in my early 20's, and you never know what kind of purchasing power someone has just by looking at them. I've had customers that looked very wealthy end up having credit so bad they probably couldn't get a loan for a pack of gum, and I've had customers come in that wouldn't look out of place at a homeless shelter end up paying cash for multiple vehicles. The simple rule to follow is to treat every customer well, not only because of this, but also because everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
