I'm a full-time DD driver and the problem is that you shouldn't be tipping based on how much you order, but by how far the distance is between your location and the restaurant you ordered from. Yeah, it's a 25% tip but if she lived 15 minutes away from the drivers delivery zone, that means he most likely made $7 or $8 to drive to the restaurant, wait, drive 15 minutes to her home, then 15 minutes back to his designated zone. Imagine making $7 for 35-45 minutes of your time. Even if that wasn't the case here, this happens quite often. I often decline orders because people don't tip at all but expect you to drive 20 minutes back and forth and I'd only make $3 from the base rate.
