It isn’t “statistically true”, it’s a ridiculously distorted statement. Since when has <21% been “most”? Apparently, both Kate and you have difficulty understanding that the corollary of the statistic is that 79% of men DON’T leave their ill wives.

Another guest mentioned that the couple had quarreled before the dinner party. If they quarreled because she wanted to come, she's the jerk who couldn't wait for another invitation. If the quarrel was over something else, then maybe he brought her to smooth things over with a nice meal. Not the host's job to do couples support.

I had something vaguely similar for the girls (RIP). They’d simply bounce it around until the top popped open, then eat two days’ worth of kibble in one sitting.

Snickering a bit. We had a saying (probably derived from a comedy sketch) when I lived and drove in the UK. Single yellow line - no parking. Double yellow - no parking AT ALL. Single red line - NO EFFING PARKING, seriously, you can’t even stop here. Double red line - WHICH BIT OF ABSOLUTELY NO EFFING PARKING DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? Is this accurate? Not necessarily. But it sure is funny.
