I received an email many, many years ago to my high school graduation but had to decline. The reason for this is because halfway through 3rd grade, I was sent to different private schools so to me, it would have been awkward to go to a graduation and hang around a bunch of people I didn't know.
It doesn't say "she". It says "18 year old desk worker." Gender of the worker is not specified.
