I live in Oregon and was a renter for 22 years... it is awful for tenants. We technically have rights but it is far too expensive for most people to fight the predatory landlords in court. I had fridges go out on two separate occasions (two different apartments, years apart) and each time it took almost a week to get a new one...no replacement of lost food or any consideration that I went almost a week with no fridge. Almost never got a deposit back no matter how clean the place was when I left.
And when you move out!

People who think that adding sweetness to bacon is weird don’t remember the old days when eating pork chops with maple syrup was normal.
