WHAT does this have to do with autism

Autism has existed for a long time, it's just we have much better awareness and diagnosing nowadays. I got diagnosed at 33, I had been autistic all my life but being female, I was incredibly good at masking. It was only working with children with autism that made me see I was autistic and did a lot of masking (like many woman/ girls do) and then took years to firstly ask to and then to get tested finally. Doesn't mean I wasn't autistic until I was 33. Many people go decades without realising that they are autistic, especially if they are very good at masking. It's awareness that finally allows them to see what is going on and the more awareness the more people seeking diagnosis and getting it. Same with many conditions like ADHD, ODD, dyslexia etc years ago these people were labeled naughty, stupid, disruptive etc and failed. More awareness means they are getting correct diagnosis'.

Happy naw yaar avarybody

We need to change this stupid system. Being assaulted is no joke, no matter who you are. I’m so sorry you went through that. I hope that you have or will someday find peace.
