That's not quite what I meant. Many a time, being polite is misinterpreted as flirting. (Source: check out the posts on Nice Guys™ who think that women being friendly is them initiating something romantic). Many a time, flirting is misinterpreted as being polite. I wanted to suggest that accidentally missing out on an opportunity to have some ✨ fun ✨ is better than trying to initiate something romantic / sexual and come across as a jerk or worse. Also, I did not mention gender in my comment; although it's about this situation, I firmly believe that anybody can make mistakes in the dating game, and I also believe that people should be communicative and clear in what they want. Personally, if I hadn't seen this tweet on a different article before, even I wouldn't have understood that tickling is meant to led to something sexual.
