English is not my native language, but it feels as if I wanted to make friends using these words, I need to invent a time machine first.

Same. I kept getting caught by having to find the antonyms because I just looked at the word instead of reading the question.

My husband was clueless about women hitting on him. We were in a professional that wears uniforms and tends to make some people hit on us when they probably wouldn't give us a second look otherwise. Anyway, my husband would get women flirting with him and I'd have to point it out to him as I stood nearby.

For $3/hr you could probably just open a Koolaid stand in your front yard and avoid the commute
I don't understand the brass/hubris of the woman insisting that people "speak english". No, Blanche, it's not your business what we're talking about. If your life is so incredibly small that you need to eavesdrop on the conversation of other people perhaps you need to find a hobby. FWIW, I love the wife's response, totally priceless!

Good for ‘er!

I hate when people generalize about baby boomers and believe we all think alike. I went through something similar, but it was my father who gave away things my mother wanted me to have and I had actually bought some of the items for her. He gave things to my SIL because my niece is the “golden child” in his eyes and he’s trying to buy her affection. I was the one that did all the errands and emergency room visits, but it’s my brother and SIL who will get everything. My feeling is that they can take care of him now (plus I’m disabled!) so I definitely believe she’s NTA and her mom is an AH.
