Some people’s lives are neat, polished stories—like a perfectly curated Instagram feed with matching filters. My life? More like a meme compilation mixed with a cat video marathon and sprinkled with questionable snack choices at 2 a.m. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve never really been the “normal hobby” type. You know how people collect stamps, build model airplanes, or play golf on weekends? Yeah, no thanks. My hobbies are more like… collecting random weirdness from the universe and laughing about it later. One day I might be trying to balance a spoon on my nose for an embarrassingly long time, and the next day I’m convinced I can teach myself how to whistle with a blade of grass (spoiler: I can’t). Life’s too short to take seriously, so I make jokes—lots of them. Some land, some don’t, but hey, if I laugh at my own joke, that’s still a 100% success rate in my book. If you know me for even five minutes, you’ll learn two things very quickly: I joke about everything, even when I probably shouldn’t. I love cats. And not just “oh they’re cute” love. I mean full-on, will-die-for-them, build-a-shrine, bow-to-their-fluffy-supremacy love. Cats are basically my spirit animals. They’re weird, dramatic, and don’t care what anyone thinks—exactly the life philosophy I aspire to. I like to imagine that somewhere, in some alternate universe, I’m actually a cat. Probably the lazy one that knocks over glasses just to watch the chaos. Growing up, I wasn’t the loudest person in the room, but I was definitely the one whispering a bad pun to my friend and then trying not to laugh when the teacher looked suspicious. Humor has always been my survival skill, my way of making the world feel lighter. If you can make people laugh, you can make them forget their problems—even if it’s only for a moment. And if you can make yourself laugh, well, then even sitting alone feels like a party. My hobbies—if you can call them that—don’t fit neatly into a box. I like exploring random “what if” thoughts. What if the moon is just Earth’s nosy neighbor that never moved out? What if cats secretly run the government? What if pizza is just a fancy salad if you think hard enough? These are the kinds of questions I find deeply important. Some people call it daydreaming; I call it research. Of course, I do carry on with life like everyone else—bills to pay, responsibilities to juggle, moments of seriousness when needed. But I refuse to let adulthood turn me into a robot. There’s already enough seriousness in the world: taxes, traffic jams, customer service hold music. That’s why I make it my personal mission to keep things weird, keep things light, and never let my inner child retire. Sometimes people ask me what my “goals” are, as if I’ve got a five-year plan neatly drawn on a vision board. The truth? I don’t. My only plan is to keep living, keep laughing, and keep petting every cat that crosses my path. If life gives me lemons, I’ll probably juggle them, make a joke about it, and then wonder if my cat likes citrus (probably not). At the end of the day, I’m not trying to be extraordinary. I just want to enjoy the ordinary in the strangest way possible. If someone remembers me years from now as “that person who made the worst dad jokes but loved cats more than oxygen,” then I’d say I did life right. So that’s me: a collector of weird hobbies, a teller of bad jokes, a full-time cat enthusiast, and a part-time human just trying to figure it all out. Life doesn’t come with instructions, but it does come with cats, laughter, and an endless supply of awkward moments—and honestly, that’s good enough for me.
