It doesn't always have to be abuse and I think that the news today clearly points that out! These kids sit on internet and chats and apps and forums and form their own opinions based on what other teens say and/or do. Many of them in the same generation and perhaps younger, only see in black or white. I have had this conversation with so many parents (am in Sweden) and quite frankly, they are scared to tell their own children off or even correct them because sh1t WILL hit the ceiling fan one way or another. I'm not saying abuse wasn't involved in this specific case, but it's far too easy to point fingers at the parents when latest trends prove that it's otherwise. This girl got upset about "Happy Resurrection Day" and decided to do something very wrong because she has no grey-zone-think. She considered what se heard as wrong (black) and she did right (white). Nowhere did her brain seem capable of anything else. Just to toss in an (much milder) example: my husband's daughter has been vanished since 2022. She left for, what we THINK, her mother. She doesn't answer phone calls or texts and her mother "doesn't want to talk about it right now". The week leading up to her disappearing nothing specific happened as far as I know. Perhaps she got p'd off when I caught her stealing my makeup (which her dad didn't want her to use as a 14 year old girl) and I asked her why she felt she couldn't ask me. Who knows! Oh yes! I want to pre-thank all of you that will downvote me!
