why would we have wild hedgehogs? they are not native. do y'all have turkeys and american badgers and grizzly's and armadillos?

"Land of the free" was a motto used back in a time when the US was the place people went to escape their oppressive government. It was an ideal for and by immigrants, which is who "Americans " are. I think we non-Americans actually use it more than they do. We currently live in the states, and it's not really a phrase that gets bandied about, or a principle that really most Americans believe in anymore. It's seems like it's more something that we've decided Americans think based on propaganda, but they don't actually think that.
They are not native to the US, but they are out there. Unfortunately due to the pet trade, and inevitably people releasing unwanted pets into the wild.
