Papercutting Artist Based in Struisbaai, South Africa, Florence is a skilled papercutting artist whose intricate black-and-white designs bring delicate beauty to life. Her journey into papercutting began in 2016 with hand-cut invitation cards, eventually evolving into highly detailed works of art. Guided by inspiration and imagination, she specialize in portraits and cityscapes, capturing depth and emotion through precise cuts. Her work is displayed at Kapula Candles in Bredasdorp, and she also take personal commissions. Whether crafting expressive faces, intricate cityscapes, or nature-inspired pieces, Florence embraces new themes with each creation. She often incorporates fine, crochet-like patterns into her work and dream of creating a massive, 6-meter-high papercut installation to be suspended from the ceiling. With a love for fifties music and pan flute melodies, she finds focus in her favourite workspace, taking breaks in nature to rest her eyes. Working meticulously with a surgical blade No. 11, she balance precision and artistry, ensuring each cut tells a story.
