I do the same thing. Not in any real language. I just like the look; it's like doodling.
Back in the 80s, weirdos messing with store products was a big deal. It resulted in better packaging for a lot of things (sealed tops on meds, toothpaste, foods, etc.). I guess the bread companies were just like, "Nah, let's just see where this goes."
