The average "successful" thru hiker I gather. Most thru hikers give up within the first week. And it can take a lot longer than 5 months to complete. Read "a walk in the woods" by Bill Bryson for an extended unsuccessful thru hike.

Personally I enjoyed the article. It wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst. Don't say stuff like that about yourself just to try to appease others. It was fine. You're fine. Don't say you're stupid, because you are definitely NOT!
