Please note that none of the photos show the ground, because it's swamped with tourists. In that sense, the pandemic was fabulous. I live in a very touristy place (island in the Mediterranean), and when there was a quasi lockdown, and no tourists were allowed to enter, we visited all those tourist hotspots and there was NOBODY there. it was absolutely wonderful. Yes, it cost 25% of our GDP, and it's killed 15 million people worldwide, but being able to admire the beauty of a place in peace and quiet is terrific.

All the photos from Austria and Switzerland look so amazing but the realist in me wonders are these really so magical wonderlands that is portrayed, because I also see the photos about my country Finland on the internet and those definitely do not represent what most of the finns see in their every day life. Sure there are lots of beautiful places outside the cities but not everything is winter wonderland with aurora borealis showing every night :D
