Guys - I think you missed the sarcasm. I do NOT think you would be wrong to complain under these circumstances. I DO think it's wrong that a misogynistic stereotype is used to silence and shame women who have every right to use their voices. I know women who are now scared to make perfectly reasonable requests or complaints because of this sexist bullshit. If someone is unreasonable or rude then call them that. Don't use it as an excuse for a sexist trope that simultaneously brands a woman as racist! The part of me that will stand up for myself and my rights as a consumer is the SAME part of me that will tell sexists, racists and homophobes to f**k off. It's the SAME part if me that will hold your hand if you need to walk past anti-choice protestors. The SAME part that made me sit with the kid the bullies were targeting, even though I knew it would make me a target too.
