Predators are very difficult to spot in the wild and it often comes down to luck. I'm glad you still got to experience them on your visit but please be mindful of parks where you are allowed to interact with animals as more often than not, rangers are not completely honest and will tell half truths about where they come from. Sometimes babies are indeed orphans that need to be hand reared but often these cubs are taken from parents, moved into these kinds of "touch and play" enclosures and when they grow older and more dangerous they are sold off for canned lion hunting. They will never make tourists aware of this as it will affect their pockets. Although hunting has been proven to boost ecology and is also a viable tourism income, profiting off of the exploitation of animals and inhumane hunting practices are unacceptable. Be wary when you partake in that kind of activity and do internet research on the facility first to avoid deceit. Hope to see you in SA again soon!

We are very fortunate in SA as we have lots of options and they are usually affordable if you are willing to camp. Next time you come to SA you must try to visit Pilanesberg National Park and spend a few days driving around alone to explore. We have loads to offer in SA and hopefully you can return one day and have an awesome game viewing experience!
